Thoughts and Thanks left in the Guest Book:

Laura ( Washington, DC)
As I write this, a light rain Is gently tapping the tin roof overhead and the soft glow of the lanterns are illuminating my writing. This place already feels like home, and Susan and Colin have instantaneously become parents, friends, and role models. I could write for pages about Trail Creek and what I have learned in my short few hours here because it is the sort of place that can affect your soul get under your skin, and leave you hungry fro more. I feel incredibly blessed for being the inaugural guest in this cabin, and I am so honored to be able to share in such an unbelievable place. The craftsmanship of the buildings, the rugged beauty of the land, the genuine hospitality of the hosts… all of these and more will have me dreaming of Trail Creek in the days, months, years to come – until I come back! Thank you, Susan and Colin, for gifting the Earth with such a place and with your spirits.

What a great time! We stayed right at Trail Creek almost the entire time – never felt the need to leave! Our kids explored from sunrise to sunset. We took hikes, fished, played games and horseshoes, and just enjoyed being a family in this majestic setting. We can’t wait for our next respite here – all of us!

Kathleen and Chad and Evan (Friday Harbor, WA)
We had the privilege of being the “inaugural” guests in the Sioux tipi. What a little slice of paradise – Evan caught stick “trout” in Trail Creek, and we awoke to veerys, chickadees, yellowthroats, and meadowlarks. A clear night, no wind, many stars. We had the whole place to ourselves – like having our own little place in Montana! An excellent way to enter Yellowstone – letting the area seep into your soul a bit before entering the park. Susan and Colin have obviously taken a lot of time preparing this place and their love for workmanship and our environment shows. We will be back, and recommend it!!

Rob and Kathy ( St. Paul, MN)
Where do we start? Coffee on the porch, a morning hike up to Chimney Rock, lunch at the historic Emigrant Saloon, a soak in the Boiling River in Yellowstone in the afternoon, and a lovely dinner and live theatre in Livingston in the evening – and wine at midnight back on the porch of the log cabin at Trail Creek, watching falling stars. How much romantic could we be?! We’re planning to return next year, for another dose! Thank you for setting the stage so well.

Sonia and Kids ( St. Augustine, FL)
This place is just gorgeous! It is so peaceful and beautifully situated. The perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. It couldn’t have been better. I prefer this 100X more than staying in a five-star hotel. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience for me and my kids! We’ll be back for sure, and for a longer stay~ My daughters said that they would like to stay here for their honeymoons!

Catherine (Lake Forest, IL) and Gail ( Indianapolis, IN)
What a magnificent panorama! Beauty everywhere… Lots of birds to watch. My favorites are the bluebirds. I wish you great success in the hostel endeavor: this place is restorative, serene… magical. An experience and setting that is unlike anything else I could dream of. Loved the sounds, the view, the cute cabin, and you! Thank you – Good Luck!

Suma and Malli (Seattle, WA)
Awesome! We fell in love, and did not want to leave.

Janeal, Joan, and Darlene ( Minneapolis, MN)
A great getaway for we three, from our busy lives back home! We’d sip our coffee on the porch each morning and watch as Emigrant Peak woke. Then we’d be off to a different destination each day – touring Yellowstone, shopping in Bozeman, visiting art galleries in Livingston, soaking in Chico Hot Springs… all wearing our red cowgirl boots, bought in Livingston! We never stopped! Trail Creek Camp provided a perfect base from which to venture out.

Greg, Aimee, and Childen ( Turtle Lake, WI)
We loved being here. Your cabins are so homey and comfortable. We saw and heard many different kinds of wildlife. The kids had many great times, playing in the creek. We will tell everyone about this place! You guys are terrific. Much love!

Glen and Mick ( London, England)
What a week. We didn’t know what to expect, coming from so far away. We played “mountain men” the whole time, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We put out fishing lines in the creek, climbed the surrounding mountains, ate huge meals in fantastic cowboy bars and western restaurants, and took ourselves back a century. What a trip! We’re coming back with more friends, this winter!! Thank you for allowing us to escape the 21 st. century, at least for a bit!

Amy and Tim ( Philadelphia, PA)
The location was perfect. The accommodations were perfect. The hospitality was extraordinary! Thanks so much for making our first anniversary so memorable, and so special. All the best to you both, and to the rest of the family… We only wish we could stay longer – loved it!

Guntmar and Sabine ( Germany)
It was very exciting to be here! There was everything we needed, and we soon got used to all of the animal noises. We had a wonderful stay! The best is breakfast in the sunshine on the deck…

James and (son) Joe and friends ( St. Paul, MN)
At first, we all just sat and stared, stunned by the beauty surrounding Trail Creek. The towering snowcapped mountains, the rock-studded hills, the willows bowing in the breeze down at the creek, and all the colors! Then, Joe and his friends began to explore, and I hardly saw them again! Fishing, hiking, riding horses, bicycling, rafting… they were happy and busy all day, every day. I spent my time taking it all in, and painting onto many canvasses. A fantastic experience, in all ways – as a dad, as an artist, as a (now-rejuvenated) individual. Many, many thanks.

Roman and Juliane (Chicago, IL)
This was one of the most relaxing vacations that we have ever had. We loved sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings. The cabin itself is just great – everything is made with a lot of love for detail. We found the collection of Montana travel guides and the binoculars very useful!

Libby and Ginny ( Gilmarlon, NH)
We loved it! The scenery is so beautiful and we loved all of the little details in the craftsmanship. Good luck with everything – we can’t wait to come back – we wanted to stay longer.

Marge and Sid ( London, England)
Our son booked this trip for us, to visit “The West,” and what a treat! I’ll always treasure hearing the meadowlarks and smelling the sweet wet grass in the mornings. And feeling the warm afternoon sun and the cool breezes coming off the mountains. And the stars at night! We can think of no better place to unwind and dream and get to know each other again, even after the years we’ve been married! A real escape. Thank you for providing the setting.

Steven and Angie ( Bonney Lake, WA)
I’m looking off the deck here at the top cabin – so inspiring and relaxing. We loved staying here; it really was the highlight of our two-year anniversary and vacation! So many beautiful artistic touches to the cabin, from the gorgeous stained glass as sunlight hits each pane, to the acrylic paintings on the table and floors. So many amazing wooden touches to the cabin as well. We definitely would like to come back for a visit. Your hospitality, kindness, and generosity will stay with us always. We so enjoyed meeting you both, and hope we see you again and keep in touch! We will mention your camp to all our friends back home. Thanks so much for everything.
