We try to include all that we can at Trail Creek Camp so that you can just kick back and create your special Montana memories.
For example, we treat all of our guests to breakfast each morning in the Buffalo Jump Lodge (muffins and bread, cereal and fruit, tea and cowboy coffee). We give each a guest pass to historic Chico Hot Springs (about 10 miles away). We offer evening entertainment, usually down by the creek or in the Buffalo Jump Lodge. We are on hand to meet whatever needs you might have, and gladly!
Your “to bring” list depends on the accommodation you choose. Home on the Range Cabin is fully modernized and stocked with kitchen and bath and laundry supplies, and plenty of extra bedding and towels.
All other accommodations, down by the creek, operate romantically (without electricity – although we do have generators if you need them). You’ll have plenty of kerosene lanterns, candles, and flashlights to light up the (summer-short) nights.
Our Buffalo Jump Lodge serves as the central gathering area, with running spring water, a cooler, small stove and grill. We have bottled water for you. The Lodge is open and welcoming from 8am - 10pm.
Guests in all accommodations (apart from Home on the Range Cabin) use the composting toilets for their bathrooms – clean and odorless and so good for the creek-side ecology. We have a solar shower shack for .. brisk showers. Otherwise, Chico offers showering facilities as part of its guest pass. We provide towels and linens for all accomodations, even the tipis.
So – what else to bring? Your binoculars, your camera, a good read, well-broken boots, and a bottle of wine. A wide-brimmed hat, and maybe a dab of sunscreen and evening insect repellant (very rare occasions), and you’re set. Contact us with any questions! And, again, don't worry - if you've forgotten it, we can provide it. |
