#1 - Where is Trail Creek Camp, and how do I get there?
<back>  <next>

Trail Creek Camp is located 10 miles south of Livingston on State Highway 89, then another almost 5 miles west up and over on Divide Road (along HogBack Mountain), then left onto Trail Creek Road for less than a mile.

You’ll see our wooden sign and the Montana flag on your right. Park in the little wood-chipped parking area. You’ll need to walk the trail about ¼ mile, across the creek on the footbridge and into the meadow, where you’ll find the various accommodations and the Buffalo Jump Lodge

To reach the Home on the Range cabin, you can drive a mile further down Trail Creek Road, turn right onto West Pine Road and drive up less than a mile. Turn right and head up the little gravel track, just before the cattle guard.  Drive up this little road, about 1/2  mile.  It takes you right to your Home on the Range Cabin door.

Access via Divide and Trail Creek Roads is very good; although they are county gravel roads, they’re well maintained.

Livingston, Montana is located just off Interstate 90 (I-90), 975 miles west of Minneapolis-St.Paul; 750 miles east of Seattle; 650 miles north-west of Denver; and 500 miles north-east of Salt Lake City.
