We, the McAllisters, love hosting guests to our newly-created Trail Creek Camp - it's the natural integration of our passions in life, and so the hosting part is pure delight.
Colin grew up outside of London (with a photograph of a buffalo on his boyhood wall); Susan in the eastern Sierras of California. We met, married, and lived in Minnesota for many years, raised our 2 children (almost baked) along with many pets (unbakeable); traveled as much as we could; lived in England for a few years (another long story); moved to Montana in 2003 (Susan teaches at MSU, Bozeman); and started building Trail Creek Camp in the summer of 2004. It's been an act of love... and perseverance, determination, and true stubborness... and all by Colin's hands (you'll see - we walk into Trail Creek Camp - no vehicle accessibility). We are so pleased that our guests find it as "enchanting" and "magical" as we do (see our guest comments). Their thoughtfulness, excitement, and encouragement inspires us in our efforts to create a new "model" of sustainable, community-oriented lodging.
Thus, despite the winter snow, the spring thaw, the summer forest fires, and the autumnal surprises: we love Montana, and consider ourselves so lucky to be able to partake of its wonders. We look forward to welcoming you as our next guest. We can't wait to share this most special pocket of the Rockies with you!
